suki playing with her new toy.
When I saw this toy in the pet shop I thought £15.99 was too much for a piece of plastic, but when the price was reduced to £10.78 I bought it . I was a little worried that the rabbits would turn their noses up at it and I'd wasted my money. I've used banana, my rabbits favourite treat but Winston immediately grabbed the toy and chucked it in the air,hmmm... unfortunately the suckers on the base of the product don't stick to wood flooring or tiles .
Level One: the bunnies have to move the disk to reach the treats. At first they didn't get it. Suki try digging, Winston managed to lift the disk out. I tried again and they both got it but they had different ideas of which direction they wanted the disk to go.
Level two: the bunnies have to lift and nudge the cuts out of the way to get the treats. They liked this level much better , Winston liked picking up the cups, they didn't really understand that the treats were underneath it, they rolled the cups instead.
Level three :it gets harder ,the cups are held down by a plastic piece. The Bunnies have to manoeuvre the cups around the board to get the treats. Suki is the only one that can do level three [see Video],Winston gets frustrated,he chucks the board around and tries to destroy it.
Hold on what about Lilly? Lilly is too shy she won't go near it…
pros
This toy is great for the food orientated rabbit .It provides mental stimulation which pet rabbits really need. It is easy to clean.I really like all the different levels, it makes the toy more versatile and keeps your rabbit on its toes. Winston hasn't managed to chew anything off yet, this is one of the toys that provide mental stimulation for rabbits.
Cons
The plastic board scratches easily,(note; the cups and the disk are thick plastic bite proof). The bunnies find the white part on the board slippery. I'm not sure how durable this product will be, only time will tell ,but I would not recommend it if my bunnies were bigger or a giant breed.
